Jr. Sabres Road Woes Continue

The Buffalo Jr. Sabres suffered their fifth straight loss on the road this past Friday losing to Villanova 6-0.

The story of the game was Villanova's Junior Harris who accumulated five points scoring four goals and adding an assist.  Harris is fourth in scoring for the Villanova Knights with 43 points on the year.

Villanova also got scoring from Matt Lorito, who added a goal and two assists, and Mason Baptista, who chipped in three assists on the night.

Harris eventually sealed the game with eight minutes left in the second period when he scored his second goal of the game on a penalty shot.  Harris recorded the hat trick three minutes into the third period when he scored on the powerplay to put the Knights up 5-0. Baptista and Lorito assisted on the play.

Villanova's balanced scoring attack and good goaltending helped them dominate the game despite the Jr. Sabres outshooting the Knights 32-29. The Knight's scored two goals in each period and goaltender David Jenkins recorded the shutout for Villanova.

The poor showing by the Jr. Sabres proves to be a costly one for them.  With a limited amount of games remaining the Jr. Sabres still sit outside of the playoff picture in 10th place with 44 points.  Their next contest is tomorrow night when they will once again be on the road against the third place Georgetown Raiders.
